‘When you support each other, you can rise so high’ Female entrepreneurs band together to mentor young women

Nine local female entrepreneurs have come together to form FEMS (Female Entrepreneurs offering Mentorship and Support) with the mission to support and encourage young women who have a passion and to provide them with the skills that will help them step foot into the entrepreneurial world. To accomplish this, FEMS is offering two scholarships of $500 with six months of mentorship to a 2021 high school graduate, one Anglophone and one Francophone, that identifies as female living in Brome-Missisquoi or Haute-Yamaska.

FEMS found its beginnings when 14 different female entrepreneurs from the Eastern Townships organized a 14 day give away last winter. “Megan Hlusko invited us all to participate and it slowly grew to about 14 different women. We all do very different things but we are all from the Eastern Townships. Some people were from out of the area but they were born and raised here,” said Sarah Katie Holmes, founding member of FEMS and owner of SKH Move & Fitness.
