On Thursday, June 16, members of the Sutton Valley Weavers’ Guild got together for their annual summer potluck dinner. This year it was held in the historic hall beside St. Aidan’s Anglican Church on Mont Echo Road in Sutton Junction. The church was the inspiration for a church building described in one of Louise Penny’s novels and it is on the Louise Penny tour map, which is available from the Brome Lake Bookstore in Knowlton.

Ladies from the Guild brought a delicious variety of meal and dessert items for all to share. During the meal, conversations rang out in abundance throughout the hall. On two tables in the hall, some members had brought in samples of work completed throughout the past year. The items were showcased by each creator, and other members showed their support and praise as each item was described and sometimes even worn.

The Guild will slow down its operations during the summer but it hopes for an active fall season where members can work together once more in person on a weekly basis.
