Summer school renovations for the start of the new school year

Students are returning to school this Tuesday and several schools have had work done over the summer. Hopefully all the work will be completed and everything will be in order for the start of the first day of the school year.
Heroes’ Memorial in Cowansville has had the ceiling replaced in the gymnasium and new doors have been added and some classrooms have been reconfigured. At Parkview Elementary School in Granby a new bathroom has been added to the second floor and it has resulted in some disruptions in the office area.
At the Eastern Townships School Board the numbers of students enrolling in classes, particularly at the elementary level, have been going up steadily. Knowlton Academy is almost at full capacity.
Covid protocols are being formulated in what has to be a flexible pattern, as the number of cases of Covid are fluctuating in the province, and the government’s protocols themselves continue to change. Right now, students above Kindergarten will have to wear masks.
