This past weekend the Bedford Agricultural Fair returned after a two-year COVID hiatus. This was the 197th edition of the Bedford Fair. The fair is smaller than Brome County Fair but it was fully supported and crowds were big on the sunny weekend. Line ups included those for the port-a-potties!

On Saturday there were equestrian competitions in the morning. In the afternoon was the Demolition Derby. The stands were full for the events. At 8 p.m. Jamie Lee Thurston was the musical guest.

Sunday was the dairy cattle judging and there was a noisy tractor pull. Every day there was a variety of events to interest all who attended.

As we head towards Brome Fair on Labour Day weekend let’s hope that interest in agricultural fairs continues.
