Brome County News (BCN) recently held its Father’s Day contest and we had quite a few submissions, we thank you for your participation!
In honour of Father’s Day, we published a few submissions in the June 22 submission of BCN, but we also wanted to share a special poem submitted by one of our readers to mark the day.
Our Dad
Hardworking, generous & kind,
Are some the words that come to mind,
When people ask about our dad,
The definition of a superhero might we add.
He listens, suggests and sometimes defends,
Our dad, he’s become one of our best friends.
Each year that passes,
We’re even more glad.
More grateful and proud,
To call him our dad.
He’s someone to look up to,
No matter how tall we grow,
We appreciate him more than he may know.
He’s the greatest baker you ever will meet,
The best bread, buns and baguettes,
You ever did eat.
We thank you dad, for loving us so,
And for teaching us the ropes,
to all that you know.
